An Alpine traverse from Nice to Litchenstein, The Med' to the Rhine. My route follows parts of the GR5, The TMB (Tour de Mont Blanc), The Chamonix -Zermatt, and The Alpine pass route plus links of my own. This years section is hopefully from Briancon(France) to Courmayeur(Italy: below Mont Blanc)
The path descended NE across the snowfields, dropping 400m in a short space of time. I didn't get my axe out but in retrospect I should have done, as the drop was quite extensive.
